Hi Dave,
The Miata seats I installed in my Spitfire had no
factory attachment for belts -- so you'll have to go
ahead and use your factory seat belts. As the Miata
seats are a little wider than the original Spitfire
seats, clearance will be a little tight with the
Spitfire belts, particularly on the driveshaft tunnel.
However, it will all fit.
Also, since your Spitfire belts are now probably 28
years old, I'd recommend this as a good time to
replace them. I got a new set from JC Whitney with
classic "airplane-style" seat buckles that look
period-correct for my car for around $30 each (not
that the Miata seats look period correct, but...).
