Paint Prep Question

I would like to (finally) shoot some primer this week.  Several areas of the
various panels are bare metal.  Is it necessary to first apply an etching
primer or can I precede with the standard "high build" primer?

Lastly, it should be about 50 degrees or so this week - Do I have to wait
for warmer weather?
