Actually, O'Malley's diagram answered my question. The 3 wire mystery harness
is supposed to go to the oil pressure sender but mine has been bodged into a
single wire sender that comes out of the harness in a different place. I think
I
can also disable the starter interlock using his diagram. Thanks for the tip!

Take a look at a '75 Spit schematic...
it matches my late MKIII GT6 better than what
was in the manual that came with the car!
Do a google search for Tom O'Malley (sp?) schematics
there's are few model years and are rather well drawn.
