Wilf and I were just discussing your problem.
We don't know if 1/8 is acceptable or not, it would depend how badly the doors
fit. The PO probably made the common mistake of not fitting the rockers
properly. If you can accept the 1/8inch gap, live with it. Is the gap
intolerable to you?? Are the doors very tight???
To correct this problem in the body is very difficult. It includes cutting ,
welding, re-painting, sealing, a big job. It can be done by cutting the
rockers, then pushing the front part of the tub [A-post] forward with a
hydraulic jack, then re-weld the rockers into place. The placement of the cut
would have to be experimented with to determine the location of the cut so
only one cut is necessary. This is a difficult job.
Wire wheels. We had a lot of problems with our old wire wheels. The nuts in
the spokes were corroded and hard to move. If you can't move the nut, you
can't true the wheel. Replacing spokes is expensive. We had so much trouble
with warped wheels, we gave up trying to repair them and ended up buying new
ones.

I was getting Rip, the '73 Spit, ready for the winter today - had to put a
new tarp over him. He's had door fit problems since I bought him. I've
suspected body sag from when the DPO replaced the rockers. Today I
measured
the distance from the top of the A post to the top of the B post. It came
in at 35 7/16". I compared this to Lazarus, the '74. He measures a strong
35 9/16". Is 1/8" within the manufacturing tolerances you'd expect, or

I just confirmed the dreaded tub sag? If it has sagged, what are the
chances of getting it straight again? I know this requires replacing the
rockers again. The rest of the tub is decent, so I hate to just scrap it
out.
I'm also getting ready to start rehab of the bolt-on wires I have. Are
there things other than the obvious loose spokes, out of true conditions,
and bent areas that I should be checking for? I'm don't remember what the
rim width is, but would 175/70 tires fit OK?
