I'd be very interested in hearing the story behind this too, since I have
noticed the same thing in my Spit.  Oddly though, or not, it seems to be
most prevelent when the fuel tank is nearly full.  I have considered a bit
of seepage around the filler, but have never been able to find even a drop.
