G'day all.
Need some advice please. At some point in its life, my 1963 Spitfire 4 has
been converted to negative earth and alternator. The problem is the wiring
loom has been chopped around over the years, and virtually nothing is left
of the original loom (or for that matter the correct colour coding).
I know you can get replacement looms from various manufacturers (fortunately
including a couple in Australia).
But the question is, which one to ask for? As the car has been converted to
negative earth/alternator, should I ask for a negative earth MK3 loom
(including the fuse box), recognising there are going to be a couple of
spare wires in the loom?
Or should I specify a Mk1 loom configured for negative earth?
Or worse still do I have to start from scratch?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
