Hi all,
Got a 66 Spit Mk 2 about 2 years ago - I have no idea why I haven't run
across this list before now. (Had sports cars years ago, then had 4 kids.
Last one is now 21 - got a sports car again.)
I am not a mechanic by any stretch, but I don't mind tinkering with the
simple things. I replaced the points not long ago. I've not been able to
completely eliminate some minor sputtering under minimal load that I'm
almost sure is related to the vacuum advance, which I know absolutely
nothing about.
To try to cut it short, my basic question is, if the timing is correct (I'm
pretty sure that it is), where should the vacuum advance vernier adjuster be
when setting the points gap? ( or does it not matter and something else is
wrong?)
Thanks in advance. What litte poking around I've done so far, this seems
like a very enjoyable, interesting, and helpful list.
Thanks again.
Gary
