I am having a small (hopefully) problem regarding the installation of my
shiney rebuilt 2000 GT6 engine into the space previously occupied by a worn
out 1500. I have the engine and 'box pushed back as far as possible but the
sump rests on the steering rack and there is 1/8" gap between the rubber
mounts and the brackets attached to the engine. I can get all the bolts
though the mounts but the engine still rests on the rack. Can I add some
spacers between the mounting points, or have I missed something? I have a
vague recollection of reading somewhere that the front suspension towers are
slightly different between Spit and GT6, is this the problem? Chassis bits
are all originally Spitfire.
