The Spit engine is still sitting on a workbench, crank and cam are in, new
pistons fitted to the con-rods, just need a little free time to put it all
together.

Mike:

I have some free time this week, let me know if you would like me to come
down to the Springs and we can get it back together and into the car. Not
that it helps much now, but I now have a spare 1147 (from the Portland car)
and 1296 (from the Scottsbluff car) if you need them. I may have another
1296 this week from a 72 parts car. I can bring valve spring compressor,
valve lapping tools, and ring compressor if you need them for the reassembly.

I have almost finished disassembling my wife's original 1493 for its trip to
the machine shop in DEN. Once I get the original back together and in the
car, I will have a spare 1493 as well.

I am still in need of a late GT6 Mk III or 1500 spit front crossmember to
install the correct bonnet on the 74 Spit6.

Let me know if I can be of any service.

Cheers!

Mark
