I have used Redline MT90 in my transmission and D-type overdrive, and I am very
happy with it, especially in the winter, when it does not get too thick and
make it
impossible to shift.

My OD has worked perfectly since I installed it about 9 or 10 years ago. (I did
have a problem with a flaky crimp-on connector on the wiring harness I
made for it, but that was my own fault.)

Definitely check the oil again. ALWAYS check the oil first whenever there is
a problem! BTW, if it works a bit better after 30 minutes or so
of driving, it may be because the oil is low, but it warmed up and expanded a
bit.

Also may sure you hear a good solid "click" when you engage the OD when the
engine is off and
you are parked (naturally, you have to turn the ignition on and put it in 3rd
or 4th to do this).

When I had a bad connection in the harness, the OD was rapidly cutting in and
out,
and it was not immediately obvious what the problem was.
