I'm most grateful to Gary Klein of TRAC (Triumphs Around the Chesapeake) for
offering webspace for a recent article. The material in question covers a
visit I made in 2002 to some of the former 'test hills' used by many UK
manufacturers in the 20's and 30's.
Using two different Triumphs, I traced the route we'll be using on 23rd May
this year for the Standard Motor Company 'Centenary Run.'
All enthusiasts are welcome to participate (email me direct) in this event -
and those from overseas should know a local classic hire company has a 4A,
6PI, 7 and a Stag available. Their web URL is in the article.
If you want to 'ride the route' in words, go to www.tracltd.org - scroll down
to the bottom of the home page and click on the Standard Coventry mosaic.
Club newsletter editors are welcome to use this article free of charge in
their mags/newsletters - I'd only request an advance email crediting me with
the copyright. If published, I'd appreciate a printed copy (not .pdf) so I can
see what everyone is doing at a local level. Forward this post to anyone you
know who is not on the list but may like to know of the article's existence.
Thanks again to Gary and TRAC for enabling this facility.
