Using a Datsun 210 5 speed box is a very common swap for A-series Spridgets,
but I don't believe it works for the Spitfire engine (else all us 1500 Midget
guys would be using it, as it fits in the Spridget trans tunnel much better
than the Spitfire OD unit). One guy I know recently installed a 5 speed kit
from (I think) Rivergate, which uses a Ford type 9 gearbox from the Ford Sierra
(sold as the Merkur XR4Ti in the states).
