Geoff,
If you remove the lock assembly from the dash, you will see a hole in
the switch portion.  Insert a thin sharp instrument (like a jeweler's
screwdriver into the hole and you will feel some spring resistance as
the instrument bottoms out.  That releases the lock barrel and it should
come out if you use a hook of sorts inserted into the key slot and pull
on it.
