Hi Spitfire owners,
What exactly is the purpose of the starter moter shim? We had the starter
replaced and there seems to be quite a racket as the Bendix unit of the
starter pulls back off the flywheel. Shim missing maybe? The shop that did
the work acknowleged the noise and said they would replace the starter if the
noise persisted, but I was wondering about the shim and its role in the
Bendix unit/noise.
