1500 Decal removal

Wondered if anyone has tried successfully to remove their 75 or later
1500 bonnet decal without destroying the paint in the process.  I'm
going to use the 73 badge instead but would prefer not to have to
repaint.  Suggestions on method/equipment would be much appreciated.
