Well finally got a free afternoon to trace the missfire on the spit.
New coil (old one, 6 months old, and the HT socket already V corroded!),
no change.
New fuel filter, no change.
New HT leads, no change.
Pull each lead in turn. no change when No. 2 lead is pulled, although
smoother running when lead is placed just touching top of No. 2 plug
which resulting audible clicking of spark jumping from lead to plug.
replace plug, smooth running.
So dead plug after only 3 months :-(. Mind you they have been in and out
of the engine maybe 20 times during the weber tuning process.
