Thanks to Nick, Greg and Bob for your thoughts.

I noticed that the large front seal on the reservoir barely sits above the
metal of the seating in the cylinder. This looks like it was due to
corrosion over time. I very carefully filed/emery papered the rust and
corrosion off and got it so the seal is evenly (almost) raised slightly all
the way round.
I reinstalled the works (for the 2nd time today!!) and it seemed like a good
seal. I bled the brakes and then did a trial run.
All seems good.
However, Upon checking it several hours later, there is slight seepage from
that seal down the body of the cylinder.

I am not sure if I should just let it settle in and live with the leak for a
bit (as bob suggests)...or is there a chance of air seeping into the lines?
The reservoir is fully topped and the leak shows no sign of lessening the
level of fluid.

Thanks in advance

Cheers,
