After much head- and heart-ache I have found the problem. I checked the fuel
system and am getting plenty of fuel to the carb. I replaced the coil and
checked all the spark plug wires (including the coil wire. Put new plugs in and
still no joy. Then I took the distributor off. After poking about a bit and
deciding all looked well, I remembered showing my wife how easy it is to
disable a car by removing the rotor. Apparently, when I replace the distributor
I didn't get it seated quite right! Arghhhh!!!!!! When I think of all the sun
I've missed while driving the (Ugh!) Plymouth... Seems I've also done something
to correct the stumble I had above 4000. I was over 70 when I had to slow down
for the corner. <G>
