I have been in love with the TR3 for a long time but unable to afford
one. I had seen spitfires but never paid much attention to them. One day
I was in a doctors office waiting for my mother and I read a article on
the spitfire in a British motoring mag. I started to check them out and
found them to be quite interesting. I recently purchased a 1976 on Ebay
that was supposed to be in excellent condition. As it turned out I had
to tow it home and all the items stated on Ebay turned out to be false
and it needed much more work and parts that I had planned on for the
price I paid ($3000). I found a 1979 parts car for $250. The parts car
was in better mechanical condition but needed body work, so I'm doing it
first and will get the '76 on the road later. The '79 in going in
tomorrow for paint then I'll start putting it back together, I removed
the interior, windshield and all lights and handles for painting. I plan
to have it ready before my wife's 55 birthday next month.
