And Yes, I can believe they spend the amount they charged you. Or almost!
The postage charge is one thing, the handling is another matter. 
Maybe they were heavy handed on that part, and this is wrong.

In any case, there are good ways to deal with a customer (explain the 
situation, detail the charges) and bad ways (that's it like it or 
not!)

It is probably on the latter that they are the most to blame, if I 
can judge by your reaction. Unfortunately, this is becoming more and 
more frequent. I almost decided against buying Decibel because of the 
attitude of the garage owner (but I was already in love). However, it 
will probably be some time before he sees me again, despite his good 
reputation in the business and the fact that an expert told me I had 
a really good car: I do not dispute his expertise, I dispute his 
attitude
