Frank,
Since you're talking about getting a small piece (which is always better
than the larger :), why not simply ask the shop to 'bore' a 1-1/2" UP to
a 1-5/8 with a pipe spreader? This device is put into the pipe and,
pneumatically, expanded, thus enlarging the pipe. Should certainly be
able to get an 1/8" out of it. This is the flanging tool used to open
the ends of the 'store bought' adaptors.
