I originally sent this message just to John (as he had e-mailed me
privately), but the message bounced as mail from my address is apparently
considered 'Spam Mail' - so I have had to reply to the whole list as the
only way of reaching John.

Subject: RE: Miata seats, headroom, and legroom

John,

I got my seats from a scrap-yard that I found on the internet, that was the
opposite end of the country, so I didn't get a chance to look at the seats
before I bought them - I just had to trust their description. Still, they
only cost #50 ($70), so I thought they were worth the risk, and they seem to
be OK (although I haven't looked closely yet).

Calling/e-mailing scrappies all around the UK (I probably contacted 20-25) I
found 4 with some MX5 (European name for Miata) seats - I was quoted #50,
#100, #150, #250 for the pair, all for the same style of seat in supposedly
similar conditions. If all the seats you have seen have not been in good
enough condition to consider, maybe I should count myself as having struck
lucky!

Good luck with the search,

Richard
