I have found that a stock engine will allow the filter to slowly drain,
even if it has a anti-drainback valve in perfect condition.

If I remove the filter when the car has not run in a week or so, not
a drop of oil spills out.

I suspect that the oil somehow siphons out through the filter's
output and the block's oil passages.
