Sean, OUCH, I am aweful sorry to hear about this accident. On the plus
side USAA is probably one of the absolute best insurance companies out
there, be glad that is the insurance he carried. I am insured by them. It
is an organization that is owned by its policy holders and is exclusive to
the military. (United Serviceman's ???? Association)

While I agree you should deal with your company, I would not hesitate to
deal with the USAA myself either. While USAA is not going to give up the
farm, hold no dilusions that your own insurance company is going to go out
of its way either. They will back you up long enough to make sure they
don't have to pay. But on a several thousand dollar accident, they won't
spend more than 1 phone call (2 if you bug them alot).

USAA is renowned for being fair and incredibly fast. They often have a
check to you in overnight mail. I would call his insurance (USAA) first see
what they will do, get your estimates, get it resolved. As long as that is
to your satisfaction - you are done. If it is not to your satisfaction then
try and work it through your car insurance. But again, they aren't going to
rack up large attorney fees for a several thousand dollar accident.

BTW, I hear those NEW bonnets are now available for $1200.00, darn shame
that these bonnets cannot be repaired effectively once the nose is so
severely damaged.

Hope it goes well,
Patrick Bowen
