Cleaning

We just purchased a 78 spitfire, and the hood looked new.  i asked the seller 
how old the top was, and he told us it was original.  I asked how he kept it 
looking so new and he told us he wipes is down with vasoline!  We should have 
this car at our home in about a week, and I might just try vasoline on the 
spare tire cover, badly faded.
