I just have to jump into this one for a minute, sorry friends.
If I have learned one thing in life, it is this:

Never recommend anybody, because something will go wrong with the deal, whatever
that may be, and the blame will fall on you, for the recommendation offered.

This has happened to us a few times. We were asked to do a job, weren't able to
do it,  recommended somebody. Bang, something goes wrong, you're in the middle
of it.
I would never hold this against Ted. I'm sure, he just wanted to help out. He
can not be held responsible for somebody else's crooked ways.
