I'm new to Spitfires., but I have read something about them.  The maplight 
was part of the luxury pack, that became available for the 1500 as a standard 
item after FH 80000.  It included inertia seat belts, head rests, day night 
mirror, centre arm rest and padded transmission tunnel cover - See Thompsons 
Triumph Spitfire and GT6 book - pages 97-104.
