Greetings folks,
Well, the TR6 is put away for the winter, and I finally got
the new project in the garage. This being a '69 Mk3 Spit that I bought
for my wife. Plenty to do, including rocker panels and front floor
repairs. I'm wondering if the front floor panels only are avilable to
buy, without having to get the whole front and rear panel. My other
Spit, a '70 which I sold last year only needed the front floor sections
as well. I repaired those with pieces of steel, but would like to find
pre-made front sections this time if they're available.
Also, has anyone ever seen fiberglass inner rocker panels before? I
just got through pulling out the seats and old carpeting (or whatever
that stuff was) and it appears that the inner rockers are fiberglass!!
Not just a smeared-over fix, but molded fiberglass panels with the oval
access holes and all. Probably not a very good idea, seeing as they're
needed for structural strength for the body. I haven't as yet jacked up
the car to get a good look at how they attached them to the other
panels.....this could get interesting...
So, if anyone knows of a supplier who has just the front floor panels
available, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
