>As a NEW owner of a 1976 Spitfire (William),
Very interesting-two new Spitfires on the list-William and
Nigel-both owned by men and both given boy's names...I think we've
had this discussion before-about mostly men give cars feminine
names whilst the women seem to give them male names. And then
there's Joe Curry and a few others who give them male
names...Hmmm...
Dave (my mechanic and Nigels "daddy") and I had this discussion-he
considers all cars to be feminine except black or very dark
coloured cars (like my Nigel)-then they're male. Red cars are
definitely female.
All the cars in my family, regardless of colour have been males
(except Julia-the Alfa Romeo-and she was named by the ex). But, we
were a mostly female family...
My next LBC, if there ever is one, will be "Neville".
Laura G. and "Nigel"
