Having installed oversized thrust washers (only to have them fall out 50
miles later) I have inspected my crankshaft and found a groove worn in
the face where the rear thrustwasher rides. I know that this will
necessitate removal and repair/replacement of the crankshaft, but I don't
want the same to happen again. I did not find this when I first opened
the engine (I didn't look) so I don't know when it happened.
My questions are:
1) What could have caused this?
2) What precautions should I take to prevent it?
3) Does anyone have a spare 1500 crankshaft?
Thanks
