I think I am correct in saying that legally a UK plate must be mounted as
vertical as the vehicle layout allows. We have all seen Spitty examples
with the number on the bonnet but with the increase of forward facing speed
cameras the scuffers and the MOT people will probably be getting more keen
to have things put right. I mounted mine on the front spoiler and never had
any problems with this.
Your second point about Kenlowes - I have one but only fitted it after the
tolerance ring on the water pump failed and the fan blades were lost. Never
had any problems in use. Surely by moving the number plate from the front
grill will not help your quick warm up in winter though.
