I will add that don't depend on the clicking noise getting worse as a
warning sign. My car never clicked while in motion - I had a single "clack"
noise when starting off. When I took the halfshaft out, I found the needles
completely gone from one of the cups! The inner part had worn the cup badly
and it was obviously near complete failure.
