Thanks to both of you. Douglas hit the nail on the head - I couldn't
get the %^*(%^%^*() thing to go into gear this morning at all. Adding
a bit of fluif and pumping the pedal like crazy seems to have cleared
the problem temporarily - I'll get my mechanic to test the system next
week whilst he has it in for a few other minor jobs. Hope it lasts
until then...
