I have heard similar stories from other car nut friends of mine about
Splitfire plugs. A while back, I believe, the company that makes Splitfire
plugs lost a lawsuit charging them with false advertising. They had claimed
big jumps in power and fuel economy just by installing their plugs. I even
heard of a few people ruining their engines because Splitfire made the plugs
just a bit too long and when the driver accelerated hard, the plugs would
expand from the rapid temp increase and punch holes in the pistons. Many
people think sparkplugs are just sparkplugs but I have learned otherwise from
my own experience with Brit cars and especially Japanese motorcycles. Bosch
platinum for all my cars, and NGK only for my bikes.
