Real easy. Yes...it does help performance! Just use
some type of steel rod or something to knock it out.
Once clean...find some exhaust pipe that will just fit
down inside and weld it around the top to hold it in
place. By doing this, you will remove the drumming
noise that the cat is well known for as well as
provide smoother flow through the pipe all while
looking as if you have a Cat on the exhaust.
