In parting out my newly acquired Mk1 Parts car, I was contacted by Richard
(Rick) Hendrickson about the seats, bumpers, Top bow and some other
miscellaneous items. I took a couple of photos and sent them to him to show
their condition.
He agreed to buy them for $200 and pay for shipping. Because both boxes were
oversized, the shipping came to $88.54. I notified him by email of the
charge and the UPS tracking numbers.
He was to have sent payment upon receipt of my message and the items would have
crossed somewhere between Arizona and Florida.
Well, after 10 days had passed, I emailed him to see if he had gotten the
packages. NO REPLY!
The next day, I EMAILED him again after I verified delivery through UPS. Again
no reply!
Today, I did an internet search and found 2 phone numbers for him. One was a
FAX or modem and the other all I got was an answering machine.
I am thinking that for the first time in 5 years of selling things to members
of this list, I have been cheated! I hope I am wrong, but no news is
not good news as far as I am concerned.
If anyone knows this individual (in Largo, FL) and can find out what is up, I
would appreciate it. Otherwise, I'd be awfully careful about selling
anything to him.
If this turns out to be a false alarm, I will be more than happy to print a
retraction.
For now, this guy has screwed the rest of you who prefer to deal honestly. I
am forced to demand cash in advance of shipment from now on!
Joe
