The distributor/coil lead should be disconnected completely from the
engine and all spark plugs removed for the test. You're only testing
individual cylinders, not the entire engine at once.
I've seen Spits with 110-130 psi averages for low compression and 150-160
for the high compression engines. What you're really looking for is just
a nice average for all the cylinders with no single cylinder more than
10-15% different than the others.
