The first site found by Google (http://www.gbt.nl/Pag3.htm) is indeed
Dutch. It's advertising a roofrack with suction cups. It says it's made in
the US, so it may well be the same one you saw in the 1989 publication.
It's very late now, I'm going to bed. If you like, I could translate the
