Spit listers, Every timing chain cover I've seen has this plaster-like (more like concrete) substance caked onto the surface of it. Either within the recesses of the quartered sections or globbed on like a large pancake. What is this stuff? I can't believe that much dirt just accumulates right on that spot. Can I just remove it, or does it serve some purpose as an insulator? -Terry '76 spit 1500 wishing spring would hurry up and get here already. Get email at your own domain with Yahoo!
