What the heck's the difference in buying a $3-4K Spit
that only needs $1K-$2K to make it nearly perfect... vs.
buying a Spit for $400 and dropping $4-5K into it,
trying to get it to look as good. No rewelded metal work
will ever be as clean (or straight) as an original in
reasonable shape to start with. Time is money...it's
cheaper to buy good.
BTDT both ways...too many times. (historically, 8 now)
I'll buy the $3K versions any day.
Flame if you care to...but I've never sold a Spit for less
than
I put into it...and that's after putting 10-20K miles on
'em. :-)
Yes.. you stumble on excellent
deals sometimes...and I usually pass them along.
Every buyer (of my past projects) has been very happy
with the deals they got. One is even on this list.
