Here's another Canuck .02 worth.

A friend of mine acquired the headliners out of commercial
vans when they were being fitted with  shelves, etc made
more rugged.  It is the right thickness of "card", already
painted one side.  And they are big - about 6' by 3'.

Surely you can find these at wreckers or at van conversion
places.
