Larry,
I got 4 others together and bought the necessary 5 units. I should have the
one installed within the next week. I'm still awaiting
the arrival of the competition 4.11 gear set to go in the unit.

The class I am in is D Modified which is virtually unlimited in modifications
so long as the car is over 1000 pounds in weight and less
than 2000 cc's. So that should pretty much covers most Spitfire applications
unless you go over 2000 cc and then you go into E
Modified.
I am a subscriber to the axiom that "less is more" when it comes to Spitfires.
The weight factor is the main consideration with using
a 4 cylinder vs. a V6 or V8. Unless you use an aluminum block engine, you end
up destroying the handling characteristics of the car.

My 1296 (bored to 1351) puts out as much power as I can possibly handle at this
time. As soon as I get used to the car, I might change
that opinion. But for now, I'm having too much fun to worry about what happens
later on!

Regards,
Joe
