Oil Leak

Hi all - I finally decided to try to stem the flow of the not
insignificant oil leak on my '79 1500 (probably really a '78).  It
appears to be coming from a plug about 1 inch in diameter just below the
oil filter.  The plug has an allen head, but I was unable to budge it
with half-hearted tug with an allen wrench.  Should I try harder with an
extension?  Any other comments/suggestions?
