Just got the latest edition of Top Gear Magazine (general motoring mag,
offshoot of a TV show of the same name in the UK). In it is a short news
article about a new series of videos that have just been bought out. They are
the culmination of 8 years (apparently) of research by one bloke into the
whole British-cars-in-America scene, combining archive footage with interviews
of current owners and collectors. It also includes some old adverts (the
subject of a recent discussion...), although it doesn't say in the article if
there are any Triumph ones, although there is an MGB being pushed out of a
'plane, to float down on a parachute onto the Arizona desert. There may be
one or two on this list who might be interested in such a thing.... The only
contact details were a web-site, www.british-car-films.com.
The other interesting thing was that the photo Top Gear chose to illustrate the
article - a British car being craned off a boat onto the dockside. The car...
a MkI or MkII Spitfire!
