Joe,
On Question 3 - do you mean the black plastic, padded bit that runs around the
bottom edge of the dash? Or are you referring to the black vinyl-covered rail
that runs along a bit below and behind the dash? If the second of these, this
should support the front of the drivers side glove compartment (which may be
missing completely).
The first part is part no. 812991 (for an LHD car), the second is 728631. The
second is available in the UK for around $30 from most major parts places, and
no doubt in the US too for similar-ish money. The first part is currently
unavailable in the UK (at least according to the two biggest parts places, and
most others are supplied by them), so your best bet is a second-hand one from
either a specialist Triumph dealer who does some dismantling, or from a
private individual with a parts car (there must be a few on the list).
On Question 4 - black wing mirrors are standard on the later cars. However, I
think chome looks better, so if it were me I'd keep them!
As for manuals, you can never have enough. I use Haynes, mainly because that
is what is most easily available in the UK. Many US listers have Bentley and
are happy with that. You can also buy re-prints of the original owners
handbook that goes with your car - these don't really add anything useful to
the workshop manual, but are a nice accessory to your car.
