I really haven't had much to contribute to the list lately -- or even my own
website, but as I prepare to embark on another drive today, I just wanted to
express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped me get Mrs. Jones
back on the road. The weather this afternoon is absolutely top-down
spectacular. Mid-70's and clear as a bell for as far as the eye can see.
I'll be thinking about all of you who have lent support, parts, suggestions,
encouragement and your knowledge that has enabled me to recapture the
feelings I had when I was 16-years old and driving my first Mk3. This has
been a wonderful year for me.
So a heartfelt thanks to all. I wish that you could be taking the drive on
those twisty two lane roads with me today. BTW, I think now that I've got
my foot in the door with another Mk3 under cover in the driveway, I've
decided that I'm going to complete the full body, frame-off, nut and bolt
restoration that the PO started and leave Mrs. Jones as she is. When the
new project is complete, I'll probably sell one or the other. But in the
meantime -- lots more fodder for the list as I know I'll have hundreds of
additional questions to ask!
Best wishes,
Jeff in San Diego
