Mike,
Welcome to the list, and congratulations on your new Spitfire! As for the 'dead
man' pedal (I've never heard it called that before, but I think I know what your
mean) - my car has one. It's a RHD, don't know if that makes any differences.
The pedal is attached to the gearbox tunnel by three screws/nuts. I've just
replaced the gearbox tunnel, and the new tunnel didn't have any way of mounting
the pedal, so I drilled some holes and transfered the pedal from the old tunnel.
I can see that it might be a bit more difficult in a LHD car.
Hope that helps,
Dean

Subject: 'Dead Man' pedal
I'm a new Spitfire owner, and a 'list lurker' until now. Simple question,
My '79 Spitfire does not have a 'dead man' pedal on the left of the clutch.
Should there be one, or has a PO removed it?
Mike
