Hi Dean,
Was your Spitfire by any chance recorded as a "Coupe" on the
registration document? The reason I ask is that my MkIV was built with a
factory fitted hardtop, the hood kit being fitted by the original supplying
dealer. The original tonneau matches OK, but we needed to change this after
fitting headrests. None of the (original Stanpart) tonneaus we tried would
fit, due to various poppers being located differently. When you find
original and unused hood or tonneau covers, they are frequently supplied
without poppers fitted, and no doubt the supplying dealer of my car made the
holes in the tonneau, hood and bodywork match up to each other, but not to
any other Spitfire!
Cheers,
Bill.
