While it sounds good in theory, and granted bigger runners would help, I
think you'll find the main restriction at this point would be the wimpy 150
Stromberg.  Now a large runner manifold modified to take a single 175
Stromberg would probably be *almost* as good as a twin 1 1/4 SU setup.  I
believe that the intake manifold with the larger runners is off a late MK3
and MK4 Spitfires and possibly very early 1500's but I'm not absolutely
sure.  One of the best manifolds and setups I ever had was a custom one off
manifold sporting TWO 150 Strombergs.  Wish I still had it.  Marvelous
welded up aluminum piece.  Unfortunately, it succumbed to vibration, plus
not being supported properly from underneath, cracked beyond repair and I
no longer have it -
