Just wondering how many listers use this stuff called
*water wetter*? I'm using it,NO F.I. but I swear that
my engine runs cooler.

Subject: overheating cause diagnosis
Calling on the wisdom of the list for thoughts on my
1980 Spit.
It idles all day in the driveway at mid-scale on the
temp guage, but on
sustained highway driving (anything over 10 minutes) it
will gradually
creep over 3/4 and I believe would continue over to
full hot if allowed.
I have already tried with & without the thermostat with
no apparent
change, flushed the radiator, and tried water wetter.
My thought: new radiator and possibly new waterpump...
My radiator looks good, no leaks, new 13# cap, and I
have already wired
the fan to a switch when the fan thermostat gave out (I
run the fan all
the time, and yes it is drawing through the radiator).
Shrouds &
valences in place and intact. Fuel indication isn't
doing anything
funny so I don't think it is a voltage problem. What
is the way to go
on a radiator, just go to a local shop and have them
recore, or is there
a better source?
TIA,
